Munich
Blutenburg Palace – Nymphenburg Palace – Botanical Garden – Hirschgarten

Blutenburg Palace Chapel
There’s a unique charm about this place that only reveals itself to the attentive visitor. The entire architectural space brings together the interior in a unified, artistically and spiritually guided structure.
Botanical Garden
Home to around 14,000 plant species. Inside the 4,500 m² greenhouses, you’ll experience tropical rainforests, cool mountain jungle climates, and hot desert landscapes. The arboretum and systematic section offer insights into plant relations and ecology. The ornamental courtyard is a great place to gather ideas for your own garden.
Nymphenburg Palace & Park
Built in 1664 to celebrate the birth of the Bavarian heir to the throne. The palace grew under successive rulers and features the grand “Steinerner Saal” with Rococo decorations. Don’t miss the famous “Gallery of Beauties” commissioned by King Ludwig I. Afterwards, enjoy a Maß of beer or a refreshing Radler and a Bavarian snack in Munich’s largest beer garden – the “Königlicher Hirschgarten”.


Lake Starnberg
Approx. 25 km via the pilgrimage church Maria Eich. Optional full loop around the lake (approx. 50 km). Return via Mühltal (approx. 22 km).
Bernried – “Most beautiful village in Bavaria”
Home to the famous Expressionist collection by Lothar-Günther Buchheim in the “Museum of the Imagination”.

Boat stops (line C, bicycle transport allowed): Berg, Leoni, Ammerland, Ambach, Seeshaupt, Bernried, Tutzing, Possenhofen, Starnberg.
Return by S-Bahn
From Tutzing, Possenhofen, Starnberg, Starnberg Nord, Gauting, or Planegg with the S6 to Westkreuz. Then switch to the S8 toward Herrsching/Weßling – just one stop to Neuaubing.

Andechs Monastery – “Holy Mountain”
The late Gothic church was redesigned in Rococo style by Johann Baptist Zimmermann between 1751–1755. The Orff Festival held in the monastery’s Florian-Stadl is the most significant venue dedicated to Carl Orff’s works worldwide.

Boat stops e.g. Herrsching, Dießen, Utting (bike transport available on line A, limited on others).
S-Bahn connections
Take the S8 directly from Herrsching, Seefeld, Steinebach, or Weßling. You can also return from Gauting or Planegg via the S6 to Westkreuz, then switch to the S8 for one stop to Neuaubing.
